I try anger on in the morning when I have nothing else to wear. Call it a last-ditch effort, But I am tired of clawing at my eyes. Maybe today i will wear the long striped scarf wrapped around my neck two times Tomorrow a bright red coat and an old leather bag It can be more subtle as well-- a bracelet, a locket, a look It doesn't suit me-- at least not at first My hair is too soft; it falls limp and my eyes still have that immature girlish glint but I have nothing else to wear. by February I learn to dress for the weather and in the morning, I go quickly out the door It's easy enough to not think about anymore I don't leave a mess on the floor It is only until I get asked for coffee by a pleasant stranger that I realize I have nothing to wear
